FOUNDATION STATEMENT: Your life is a sum total of the words that you’ve sown in your heart. The Words that you spend time looking at, listening to, and speaking are THE KEY ISSUE in life – Proverbs 4:20-23
I. Your life is a product of the words that you’ve sowed into your heart – Proverbs 4:22 – Words are life
A. You can’t become anything greater in life than the words that you spend time sowing in your heart
B. Whatever words you’re seeing, hearing, and saying are being sown in your heart. When those words are sown in your heart, they begin to develop faith in your heart. Then that tree of faith bears the results you see in life
C. The fruit is a product of the seed, the results in life are a product of word-seeds
II. Attend to God’s Words and sow the right word-seeds because bad things in life begin with bad word-seed being sown into the heart
A. Sowing the wrong words will produce the wrong belief and that belief will produce in your life
1. If you are constantly hearing the world’s word-seed, then eventually you’re going to believe like the world and if you believe like the world, you can be saved, but you’re going to get what the world gets
a. You might believe Jesus is Lord and they don’t, but beyond that you’re belief is about the same
B. Don’t be under the deception that you can sow one kind of word-seed and get a different kind of harvest (Galatians 6:7)
1. Don’t be under the deception that you can spend the majority of your time with the word-seeds of this world and then see God’s word-seed manifest in your life
2. The word-seeds that dominate in your heart, will be the harvest that dominates in your life
C. Matthew 14:24:31
1. Come – Seed potential to walk on the Water; the power to walk on the water
2. The wind started talking to Peter and he gave his attention those word seeds it produced a belief (of fear) in him; faith in the wind to knock him down
a. His belief changed when the words he gave his attention to changed
3. This failure began with him sowing the wrong word-seeds
a. Could Peter have stopped this before it ever started?
III. APPLICATION: Your life will become the words that you spend the most time with. What you don’t want in life don’t spend your time looking at, listening to, or speaking in the form of the words.
A. One of the greatest stunts that devil has ever pulled on the Body of Christ is that he’s gotten many Christians to believe that words are a light thing and they really don’t make a difference in what transpires in life. He’s trying to work the deception that what you spend time saying and what you spend time listening to is not going to affect your life.
